PEMAKAIAN TO BE ( AM, IS, ARE)
a. Subjek - kata nama
Contoh:
1. I + am a student.
2. You, we, they + are children.
3. He, she, it + is a doctor/ a pen.
b. Subjek - kata adjektif
Contoh: He is fat.
c. Subjek - adverb
Contoh: He is there/ here.
d. Membentuk “ING” dalam present continuous tense.
Contoh: He is studying very hard to be a doctor now.
e. Ayat pasif
Contoh: He is given RM 10 by his father.
f. Ayat negative - *tambah NOT selepas to be.
Contoh: I am not thirsty/ he is not a lawyer.
g. Ayat Tanya (Interrogative)- letak to be di depan.
Contoh: Is she a teacher? / Are you hungry?
Kebahagiaan itu tidak terletak pada keturunan, pada harta benda, pada emas berlian, tetapi kebahagiaan itu terletak pada agama, ilmu pengetahuan, sopan santun dan tercapainya cita- cita.
